Hey, Sole Sister!
Volunteers are the heart of Fit for Girls. They share a common goal of empowering middle-school girls. Are you looking for an opportunity to help empower the women of tomorrow? We are seeking program coaches and race day mentors. Or, would you like to be part of an aid station team, or one of the many other behind the scenes jobs it takes to make a successful race?
Our 9-week education and training program needs Coaches for our spring and fall seasons. Lead Coaches teach Fit for Girls curriculum and exercise alongside the girls, training them race day pacing. As a lead or drop-in coach and experienced female runner, you help the girls build skills that give them the tools they need to make the most of their dreams and overcome the challenges they encounter along the way with a plan and added confidence.
Race Day Mentor (Sole Sister)
On race day, each girl meets her personal mentor, a Sole Sister who is by her side through the entire event. As a Sole Sister and experienced female runner, you will mentor, one-on-one, a girl the morning of her 5K race in all the steps to get to the starting line, through the race, across the finish line, and the festivities afterwards. This is just one of the things that makes Fit for Girls unique! Sole Sisters remember what it is like to be a middle-school girl. The Sole Sisters' role on race morning is to help the girl she is paired with, run her best race.
