Kellie HayneS | President & Founder

Kellie Haynes is the Founder of Fit for Girls.  Kellie works in the exciting field of Road Race Production and Digital Race Timing.  She holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, is a credentialed teacher, and a certified running coach.  Inspired by the women she ran with, the girls she taught, and her own middle school experience, Kellie stepped up to create Fit for Girls.  Beyond Founder, Kellie is an active Fit for Girls Coach and Board President. She has also held the position of Executive Director, and served as a Sole Sister.

Kellie’s drive to continue to be actively involved and to keep Fit for Girls alive and thriving comes from watching a girl who doubts herself on the first day of the program transform into an empowered young teen who knows that, with commitment and hard-work, she can accomplish what seems impossible. The smile and confidence on her face when she crosses her first finish line are reminders that keeping Fit for Girls alive, means middle-school girls will thrive.

Running is the greatest metaphor for life, because you get out of it what you put into it.

I run because…

It makes me feel strong and powerful, and trail running makes me feel like a kid again.
